DFI Workflow Day 2

New tools
Shortcut/location
Uses
Google Keep
Extension on right hand side of bar
Can change colour, set alarms/reminders/name labels/and categorise the lists

Take a photo 
Making list
Shopping
School jobs
Personal lists
Finding texts on websites for reading groups, click on new tab, click on google keep extension icon, add in your note for that link. This then gets saved to google keep as a note.

Click on photo, click on 3 dots, click on grab image text. It will transcribe the text in the photo (could use this for reading groups).
GMail
Press G+T = Sent emails
Press G+D = Draft emails
Press G+S = Starred emails
Press C = compose new email
Press V = moves an email to a folder/label

Schedule emails
Schedule emails - click on the arrow next to SEND button, then select the date you want the email to be sent
This will be useful when sending the class emails that they need to action but not at home e.g. sending them a survey, but you want to talk them through it first before they complete it.
Calendar
Click on the calendar icon. 

Press M = Month
Press Y = Year
Press D = Day
Press C = create event
Press S = Settings
Press G = go to date
Press X = next 4 days, 4 weeks (depending on your current view)
Press J = next
Press K = Previous
Use quick searches and keyboard shortcuts
Hangouts
Click on calendar, click on create +
Click on add locations and conferencing, 
Click on add conferencing
Video meetings, conference calls, tool kits.
Quick time player
Search for this in applications.
Click on file, new screen recording.
Click on a slide or a piece of text or website. 
Take a screenshot of a piece of text and record responses and discussions about this text. Could use for literacy lessons.

  2. Kia ora Emma, your table makes you notes very clear. Remember if you are copying text from another source to your blog when you go to paste ctrl+shift+v or for mac - cmd+shift+v will remove any previous formatting and it will be contained in your post. A great short cut for the students too.

  3. Like the way you have summerised your learning, I need a lesson. It is clear and easy to follow i can see how easy it will be for you to use your site as a reference tool in the future.
